Build it and they will come?

You have invested, time, money and effort  into your site and the traffic is just not coming.

What can you do?

First of all, don't waste time and money on schemes you see advertised that promise to drive hits to your site.  There are some great sites out there, but don't be fooled by experts who make wild promises.

If you have good statistics on your site (you have haven't you) you will see very easily which programmes are driving traffic to your site and which are not.

If your website has been built correctly, using correct page titles, meta tags, keywords, headers and it validates and is accessible, then the major search engines will provide hits.

If you wish to invest further.  All of the major search engines have programmes to help increase traffic.

There are many things you can do to increase traffice. An example is popularity.  The more sites that link to yours then the more relevant your site is deemed by the Search Engines and the higher up the rankings you go. Check in Google how many sites link to yours go to www.google.com and type ' link:yourdomain'.
