There are three basic things you need to have to create your web presence.

1. Domain Name
   
   e.g.  your companyname.com. 
   
   This is also used for your email e.g. This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it
   
   
2. Hosting
   
    This is the computer that hosts your website and 'serves' it to your visitors when they click on your website name.
   
   
3. A Website - this is the fiiles, pictures, maybe a database, that make up your website that is uploaded to your hosted webpace.
